It’s always good to take time to reflect on your life. That can be done any time, not just at the end of the year. Taking time to reflect on your life, parenting skills, the work you have done, your educational journey, what you need to work on, and what you did really well will help you set goals for the future. It helps me set goals on things I want to accomplish, whether improving a skill or seeing where I need to spend more or less time on specific areas. Today I am reflecting on the Content Strategy, Development, and Marketing class I have taken this month.
I don’t know about you, but I always have a hard time seeing my strengths. Why is it we are so quick to point out our shortcomings but so slow to point out what our strengths are? Seeing my strength is something I need to work on. So here we go!
My strengths in this class are my research abilities. The funny thing is, when I enrolled in the Digital Marketing Batchelor’s Degree program at Full Sail University, research was the thing I dreaded the most. I really struggled with the research aspect of classes for a few months, but now it’s the thing I look forward to the most. Funny how that happens, isn’t it?

Another strength that helped me this month was taking the research I did and analyzing it to figure out what type of content would benefit Nina and Pinta Caravels the most. That sounds pretty simple, but with so many options that could work, you have to analyze your research and be objective. It would be easy to pick the option I’m most comfortable with, but my job is to figure out which one would best meet their marketing goals not what is easy or comfortable for me. I think I did that.
Reflecting on class, I learned so much this month that will be useful in my future career as a digital marketer. I learned how to create a discovery brief and creative brief, which I’m sure I will write many more of for clients in the future. Learning how to decide what content would be best for a company, creating the content, and then promoting the content are all skills that will be used daily as a digital marketer. I need to work on learning more about each social media platform. Things change constantly in the digital world so it’s important for me to always be learning new aspects of each one.

As I reflect on this class, I learned my strengths are researching and analyzing the research to find the best course of action for a business to meet its marketing goals. This class taught me many skills I will use as a digital marketer, including writing creative and discovery briefs, creating content, and promoting the content. I’m excited to perfect the skills and learn new ones as I continue my educational journey to becoming a digital marketer.
